Once-In-A-Generation Opportunities, Wealth and Thinking Like An Investor

In this week’s episode of The Social Media Takeaway Podcast, I sat down with financial expert Lynn E. Kitchen, who has nearly 40 years of experience helping people build sustainable wealth.

We talked about wealth, risk, and why so many capable business owners avoid staying involved with their money. Not because they don’t care, but because it feels complicated, emotional, or easier to hand over.

What stood out was how much opportunity exists right now for those willing to pay attention.

Lynn talks about AI, technology, and markets shifting. She says uncertainty is everywhere you look. And when things feel uncertain, she notices the same pattern again and again.

People pause. They delay decisions. They hope things will become clearer later.

But uncertainty isn’t new. Lynn says what’s different is the pace of change.

According to Lynn:

1. Money isn’t the problem. Avoidance is.

Most people don’t avoid money because they’re bad at it. They avoid it because it feels loaded.

They hold on to old beliefs, past experiences and the fear of getting it wrong. So instead of staying involved, they step back. Handing responsibility to someone else doesn’t remove risk. It just removes awareness.

2. Business owners already understand risk

According to Lynn, if you run a business, you’re taking risks all the time.

You invest before there’s proof. You reinvest instead of taking everything out. You make decisions without guarantees. But when it comes to wealth outside the business, a lot of people mentally step back. And that gap matters.

Because the same way of thinking that builds a business is the same thinking that builds long-term wealth.

3. Opportunity comes from paying attention

One thing from this conversation really stuck with me.

Uncertain times often create the biggest opportunities. But real opportunity doesn’t come from guessing. It comes from understanding what’s changing and putting yourself in the right position. We’re in the middle of big shifts in how businesses work and how money is made. And the people who benefit most won’t be hoping for the best. They’ll be informed.

4. Wealth building isn’t reserved for experts

Wealth building isn’t just for experts. And it’s not something you outsource and forget about, or leave until “someday”. Lynn says, you don’t need to know everything. But you do need to stay engaged.

INVITATION: Lynn recently hosted a virtual masterclass on wealth, opportunity, and how she’s thinking about investing in times like these.

Great news! Replay is available, so you can watch it in your own time and get a clearer sense of what’s ahead, without pressure or commitment.
