Google Google Business Listing is a prominent listing for businesses on Google Maps and Google Search, making it easier for potential customers to find relevant information about a business, such as its address, phone number, hours of operation, reviews, photos, and more. It allows businesses to manage their online presence and interact with customers effectively.

Here are 5 Tips to optimise your Google Business Listing (and be found on the MAP):
  1. Make sure you have chosen the correct Business Category. Selecting the appropriate categories for your business is vital for Google to understand what your business offers. Choose the most relevant categories that accurately represent your products or services. You can select a primary category and additional secondary categories if applicable.
  2. Respond promptly and professionally to both positive and negative reviews, showing that you value customer feedback and are actively engaged with your audience. Positive customer reviews can greatly influence potential customers’ decision-making process. Encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews on your Google Business Listing.
  3. If you don’t have a website, utilise the free website builder that Google Business has to offer such as “Google My Business Website.” This tool allows businesses to create a simple, one-page website directly from their Google Business Listing.
  4. Ensure that all the information provided on your Google Business Listing is accurate, consistent, and up-to-date. This includes your business name, address, phone number, website, hours of operation, and other relevant details. Be thorough and fill out every available field to provide comprehensive information to potential customers. Don’t be tempted to state that you are open 24 hours if you’re not. It’s against Googles guidelines
  5. Adding high-quality photos to your Google Business Listing can significantly enhance its visual appeal and attract more customers. Include images of your storefront, products, services, team members, and any other aspects that highlight your business. Make sure the photos are well-lit, clear, and showcase your business in the best possible way.
  6. Integrate keyword phrases associated with your business into your business description as this will help your listing show up for relevant searches.
